BooksPlus, an independent Bathurst bookstore came to ALL IT looking to streamline and update their IT systems and practices.

BooksPlus found themselves at a crossroads, grappling with a multitude of I.T. challenges, primarily stemming from their reliance on outdated Point of Sale (POS) systems and legacy platforms. Their computers, some dating as far back as 2009, were running obsolete software, leading to complications in stock management and customer interactions. The use of on-site servers further exacerbated these problems as remote access was non-existent. Recognising the need for a transformation, BooksPlus enlisted ALL I.T to modernise their systems, with the goal of improving operational speed and overall customer experience.

ALL I.T responded to BooksPlus’s challenges with a comprehensive and systematic approach. The first step was to upgrade BooksPlus's outdated computer hardware and replace their existing POS hardware with new models compatible with CircleSoft's cloud-based POS solution. This was accompanied by a thorough security overhaul to address vulnerabilities associated with legacy platforms and outdated POS systems.

To further streamline operations, we transitioned BooksPlus into the Microsoft ecosystem. This involved migrating their email system from an outdated POP system to Microsoft 365 and relocating their files to SharePoint. This shift not only enhanced workflow efficiency but also enabled remote access and multi-user collaboration. Understanding the importance of proper guidance during a transition, we conducted comprehensive training sessions for the BooksPlus staff. This ensured that everyone was equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilise their new systems.
