WHO’S THE CLICKER IN YOUR TEAM?

We have all heard stories of Business’ losing their data or being locked out of their system because ‘someone’ clicked on a malicious email.
This downloadable mini poster outlines a few of the pitfalls to avoid so you and your business doesn’t fall prey to cyber crime!

PASSWORD MANAGEMENT

Using the same email and password everywhere it is only a matter of time before it gets compromised. Then you are handing them access to your entire business and personal life!

Implement a password management tool on your PC and phone and change your passwords to something complex and mix it up – 10 characters and complexity is a MUST!

MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION

MFA Allow you to sign in a way that suits you,be it via fingerprint scan or single-use code generated by authenticator app.

Use it whenever possible, especially when it comes to your most sensitive data.

PICK UP THE PHONE

Has someone asked you to change bank details, transfer money or pay a fine?

Find their number independently and call them to verify.

CYBER PROFILING

Someone, somewhere is profiling you and/or your organisation with a view to exploiting it

They are on your website, LinkedIn, social media websites, working out who’s who in the zoo.

Once they have learned all about you, they will register a domain name with one letter different from yours and set up accounts that look like your emails.

IF IN DOUBT, DELETE THE EMAIL!

Received an email and it doesn’t look right?

Hover over the email address, and you’ll see the full domain which is possibly fake

Be sure for accurate spelling of domains – often hackers will register a similar looking domain – ie:support@alllitservices.com.au – notice the extra ‘l’ Look out for grammar and spelling mistakes.

Scammers will feign a sense of urgency or make threats to trick you into action.

Banks, ATO, AusPost don’t email you asking youto update your details or login via clicking a link.

RECEIVED A CALL FROM ALL IT?
DOESN’T SOUND RIGHT?

Hang up and call back. We don’t mind – quitethe opposite we’ll respect the initiative.

This also applies to the bank, ATO, Australia Post, and those calls where they want to login to your PC!
